A Serbian Film đã bị từ chối trình chiếu trong năm nay tại sự kiện Film4 FrightFest khi phiên bản của nó có tới 49 cảnh bị cắt. Phần lớn cảnh bị cắt đều nhạy cảm và vô cùng tàn bạo về câu chuyện của một cựu ngôi sao khiêu dâm người Serbia trở lại với ngành sản xuất phim sex. Các nhà chức trách người Anh thuộc BBFC (Bristish Board of Film Classification: hệ thống phân loại phim ở Anh) đã cắt tổng cộng 3 phút 48 giây gồm nhiều phân đoạn trẻ em quan hệ tình dục, cũng như vấn đề bạo lực tình dục được đưa vào phim.

Mặc dù đạo diễn Srdjan Spasojevic có nói, bộ phim là cách ẩn dụ về tình trạng của đất nước nơi ông sống nhưng BBFC vẫn ra quyết định rằng bộ phim đã đi quá xa, không phù hợp với cả những người trên 18 tuổi.
